Because connection is more than memory.
A voice-first platform that pairs familiar voices with meaningful images — prioritizing emotional recognition over memory performance for people living with early-stage dementia and the families who love them.
Rather than asking someone to remember a fact or recognize a face, MemoriGems leads with the familiar voice — a laugh, a story, a phrase only family would say — because emotional and auditory pathways can stay meaningful even as memory changes.
Each "Gem" is a short, voice-first message paired with a meaningful image, designed for low cognitive load and built to be revisited as a ritual that sustains connection over time.
MemoriGems is the first application of VOCES — not its endpoint.
Record a meaningful voice message in a familiar voice.
Pair it with images and written content that matter.
Send the Gem to a loved one with ease.
Experience it through gentle, audio-first playback.
Replay and return to Gems anytime, as a ritual.
"Who is this?" — recognition depends on memory.
"I feel this" — emotion can connect even when memory fades.
Photos ask the brain to remember. Voice helps the brain feel — even when memory fades.
For people in early-stage dementia maintaining connection and identity — and the families holding shared moments together.
A relationship-centered complement to clinical care that supports connection without relying on memory recall.
For care communities seeking dignity-centered tools that meet residents where they are.
A novel, relationship-centered approach that complements clinical care by prioritizing emotional connection through accessible, voice-first design.
Not a caregiver replacement, a clinical decision-making tool, or a diagnostic instrument.
MemoriGems was intentionally designed to align with research on emotional memory and auditory processing. Early observations from caregiver use suggest increased emotional engagement, improved responsiveness, and reduced frustration during everyday communication.
MemoriGems' design is informed by — not validated by — the research it draws upon, and has not yet been studied in clinical trials. We are actively seeking research partners to measure emotional engagement and connection outcomes.
We're collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and care organizations to measure outcomes and expand to broader cognitive conditions. If that's your work too, tell us a little about it and we'll be in touch.
Your inquiry is on its way to the HuLux team. We read every message personally and will be in touch soon.
